2002 The PB-Technik AG - in short PBT - with its headquarters in Zollikon/Zurich, Switzerland, is leading several production units and worldwide branch offices. Today PBT is serving the markets in Europe, USA and Far-East through 10 independent subsidiaries of which five are engaged in development and production. The group maintains state-of-the-art production technologies, be it for raw materials (comprising but not limited to Silicon, Sapphire, Germanium, Pyrex, Zerodur etc.), wafers or OEM components for the electronic and optic industry.
PBT's latest engagement is the cooperation with a Swiss company for polishing and reclaiming of Sapphire wafers as well as shaping, grinding, lapping and polishing of OEM components for electronics and optics.

1991 A new field of activity is added as PBT diversifies into the production of mono-crystalline silicon wafers for electronic applications and mono-crystalline silicon wafers as used in the manufacture of solar cells.

1977 Mr Pierre Boll - the name PB Technik origins from the initials of his name - takes over the company from his father. The business has successfully changed to electronics and specializes in the supply of equipment and materials to the electronic industry and is heavily engaged in various fields like assembly, soldering and testing of Printed Circuits Boards (PCB) and Hybrid Integrated Circuits (HIC).
In the eighties PBT starts the production of equipment in its own factory for the assembly of surface-mount technology (SMT) boards. Its engineering group supports customers in design works.

1936 The origins of PBT root back over 65 years when Mr Oswald Boll founded in Rotterdam his firm for the importation of bright stock oil and neutral oil products from the USA to Switzerland. A few years later Mr Boll establishes the company in Switzerland. Later the business develops to a service and production organization, always at the forefront of technology throughout the years.

The company is technology-oriented and has always maintained a state-of-the-art position in production technology, dedicated to the supply of equipment and material for electronic device and system manufacturing. About ten years ago the material group has been founded and delivers substrates and components to the electronic and opto-electronic industry.

PBT's main objective is to help customers by analysing the needs of its clients, transferring the adequate process know-how and supplying the suitable products. To be able to fulfil this goal we do not see ourselves just as a supplier but as a true partner in a close and open relationship. Since its foundation more than 20 years ago, PBT has grown from a representative office selling machines for the production of PCB's to Russia into an internationally active company. Today PBT is serving the markets in Europe, USA and Far East through 10 independent subsidiaries of which 5 are engaged in development and production.
